Hola de nuevo amigos/as. Espero que estéis muy bien.
Hoy os dejo un hermoso insecto que revolotea por el jardín desde julio hasta agosto. Se trata de la Zygaena, las hay con diferente cantidad de puntos en las alas y también de color azul, aunque aquí la que más se ve es la que tiene cinco puntos. Habita en zonas húmedas y prados ya que es donde crecen sus plantas favoritas como el trébol. Su hermoso colorido advierte a los depredadores de que es tóxica. Se ve en las horas más calurosas del día.

Es una preciosidad esta Zygaena, antes la veía mucho por el campo, pero cada vez veo menos insectos en general. Me encanta las fotos que has hecho, son espectaculares.

ResponderEliminarLovely pictures Lola. You have managed to capture the beautiful blue sheen on the wings. We have the six-spot version here and it is very common on the coast. A few years ago someone saw a five-spot species and we were all very excited, and then we discovered a lot more. Possibly they had been here for many years, but no one had bothered to count the number of spots and assumed they were all Six-spot Burnet Moths!!

ResponderEliminarI recognize them – they're my favorite insects; they immediately remind me of summer and green meadows. I also photograph them because they attract attention. If I remember correctly, I last saw them in August in my meadow.
